Hi,
I have recently started looking for information related to GMAT and I intend to apply in 2013. I feel it would be good to have a pre-prep profile evaluation from a consultant and would request somebody for help.
My target would be ISB (and at worst Great Lakes in India). I am willing to look at schools outside India provided they are of the same stature as ISB.
My thoughts currently: (a) I feel I do not have the best profile to get admission into one of the good schools and (b) I am willing to understand the alternatives available and/or the target GMAT score that would secure me my target school.
Ergo, I'd appreciate a very candid evaluation. I don't need an optimistic feedback. I need realistic analysis.
About Me:
-Indian, IT, Male
-4 years 6 months work experience at the time of writing this (I should have more than 5 years by the time I apply)
-B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering with 7.3/10 CGPA (81% as per official university conversion scale)
-12th: 53%
-10th: 80%
-Currently working for one of the largest US based IT companies in the world, client being one of the largest banks in the world
-All my domain experience is in financial services where I develop/test IT products
-Extracurricular activities: I have been a regular participant to inter school/college debates and other literary events. I have continued the same in office where I have been the master of ceremony for a 3000+ crowd. I have held the literary president responsibility in college and organized several events.
-Apart form this, my interest lies in stock markets. I am an active stock market trader and have a decent knowledge of the markets and its various nuances. I have my own blog which I write on regularly.
What bothers me:
(a)During my browsing, I came across a consultant who has been shooting down 720 GMAT score profiles saying that the only lagging factor in them is that they belong to the "I-I-M demography" (I am personally thankful for letting people know the truth). But her criteria seemed to be for folks applying to US universities. I am unsure if this drawback would be a breaking criteria and I would like to know what would be a comfortable GMAT score to eclipse this fact.
(b) My marks in standard 12th (53%) - This has stopped me from taking the indian MBA entrance exams where I know that this is a shortlisting criteria. I would like to know how much would this factor factor into the admission process.
Regards.

"Target Test Prep is the closest to the official version of the GMAT exam, about 99% accuracy in terms of the quality and quantity of information. The course has excellently created singular sets of focused lessons and tests for every possible topic that one could come across in the official GMAT exam."
"The TTP course maximizes the efficiency of the time you spend studying. It will take time and effort but I could almost guarantee that if you complete the course exactly as it is laid out you will get an amazing score. They also have a very responsive team willing to help with any questions you might have."
"TTP has two things that I think no other test prep company offers: A teaching approach that reinforces understanding and an attitude that will give you the mental preparedness needed to succeed on the test. TTP gives you a deep understanding of the concept you need to know while teaching you how to think."
