Why are there so many consultants at top MBA schools?

IMO, it's important to look at your candidacy into a top MBA program as a comparison between yourself and who's applying against you. By understanding this, it may better position you for success through the process. It's important to understand too that you don't have to work at McK or Goldman to get into HBS. In fact, there are distinct advantages a candidate possesses by NOT working there, if these advantages can be leveraged the right way.
