hemant02 wrote: 8. Error Log-Does it help?
Even I had the same question when I read stories of people here who found error log very helpful. I always wondered do I need one.
Now most of us aren't very systematic and maintaining an excel sheet is something that we hate. But I think that error log helps a lot simply because I could come back to the problems I had gotten wrong and needed to review.
Excellent advice, hemant02.
For anyone interested, the Improvement Chart (free here: https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-error-log) let's you flag troublesome questions and helps you identify weaknesses as you work through the OG13.
Cheers,
Brent

a)don't want to do the boring work that I'm currently doing
b)don't want to progress slowly.Hey who the hell gives a damn about becoming a team leader/project manager in an IT anyway
c) don't want to earn peanuts b) want to move to silicon valley-the place which is changing the world that we live in
Awe-inspiring and life-saving(for me).
I've been preparing for almost a year now
Still haven't taken it
Hemant, did you go through PowerScore for CR?
Could you share your thoughts on this book? It's pretty old (2009). Is it still relevant?

I have used Powerscore. It's a good book but yeah it won't fully prepare for the GMAT. It needs to be updated a lot-doesn't contain new type of questions like boldface, logical completion etc..Also it doesn't have a lot of practice questions so you would need some practice materialtabsang wrote:Great de-brief.hemant02 wrote:The decision to go for an MBA..

I really liked your "words of wisdom"..One problem I face is that I am quite inconsistent with my prep. One week I'll be on fire and I study hard and the next week,i'd hardly do anything..any advice on that part ?

Congrats Hemant !!
You mentioned for SC you used Aristotle 3rd edition and "I did use other books for SC but found them confusing". I was wondering if i study with Aristotle 3rd edition , will it suffice or would i need to use other books as well like Manhattan SC ?

I think you gave a very valuable thought today. You cannot do the same things and expect different results!
Congratulations on your success, and best wishes!

You won't need any other book if you have the 3rd edition. It's very comprehensive. It'll anyway take a good amount of time to go through the book.Ohiostatebuckeye wrote:Congrats Hemant !!

@hemant02
Did you use OG Verbal review for practicing verbal questions ? Also what did you use for Math practice ? I find the Math questions in the OG way too easy.

I have heard the OG verbal review has questions from the 10th edition so if you can get the soft copy of that, then you should be good. For math practice, i'm using ps and ds boosters..OG questions are indeed too easy.HBS2014aspirant wrote:@hemant02

The first 2/3rd of OG Math questions are very easy but the last 1/3rd are very good(with some of being quite tricky) i think..I learnt a lot from those questions.EricaR wrote:I have heard the OG verbal review has questions from the 10th edition so if you can get the soft copy of that, then you should be good. The GMAT is a computer adaptive test so even with the same number of questions that you get wrong, two people can get two different scores. Remember the GMAT is very different from a traditional test.
