RC Strategy

Hello everyone,

I just joined the website, and I need some help on the GMAT especially on the Reading Comprehension. English is my second language, and I seems that every time I take the exam ran out of time in the Verbal section. My verbal score has been horrible; I am working on getting SC question in about a minute and half, and getting the CR question with 2 minutes. I can improve on both CR and SC, but l lose track of time in when I am doing the RC questions. It just takes me a long time to read the passage and then go over the questions. When I feel I am running our of time in RC, I end up guessing and get the questions wrong even though I spent time reading the passage. I tried the Manhattan Gmat strategy, which sketching few notes while I am reading the passage, but it is not working for me, and it consumes alot of time.

I also tried to read the passage in 3-4mins just get the overall scope, then answer the questions in a minute and half each but I end up getting them wrong. Sometimes I feel my head is all over the place and I can’t concentrate on the passage, and sometimes I feel too lazy to go back after reading each questions since it consumes too much time.

I need some serious help on this and I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
What should I do?

In addition to other strategies....One thing I would advise to do on the side... when you are free and have a few minutes every day...go a head and read articles from Businessweek.com, financial times...etc. Reading Articles from those papers will train your brain to digest paragraphs on the GMAT test, so it will be easer for you to apply other strategies...

English is my second language as well.
