by [email protected] » Tue Oct 02, 2012 1:55 pm
What is the median number of employees assigned
per project for the projects at Company Z ?

(1) 25 percent of the projects at Company Z have 4
or more employees assigned to each project.
(2) 35 percent of the projects at Company Z have 2
or fewer employees assigned to each project.

Not able to understand the exp. at all.

The answer is C

Statement 1: Since median is the number at which 50% is defined, this does not tell me what the number of people are in that segment. Insufficient.

Statement 2: Similar. Insufficient.

Statement 1 and 2 combined.: I know 25% of the projects have 4 or more employees and 35% have 2 or fewer employees. So the only segment that is in the middle are exactly 3 employees.
