    In options A and B, we are lacking a verb. Instead we have enjoying which cannot be a verb alone.
    Moreover there are parallelism issues too in these choices as explanied below.

    Nest we check of parallelism.
    The non underlined part says as both a X ...
    We need to complete the sentence by and a Y, making the sentence:
    as both a X and a Y ...

    Only Option C satisfies this parallelism.
    Correct Option: C

    thanks a lot for these detailed answers.

    I have a question about the tense 'had enjoyed' in the choice E. Is it legit? I figured that the simple past tense would be enough.

    Could you please help me clear my doubt?
