Idiom - INSTANCE

What is wrong with this ?

We eat out often; As an instance , last week we ate out every night.

Hi rohitgmat,

If your intent is to reference an example, then one of the phrases that you could use is "for instance."

You could also use "for example" or "as an example" among others.
