Is there any way to solve this problem without creating a graph? Any simple way that can be used in under 2 minutes?

thanks

If you are good with calculation and remembering formulas, you can easily solve this problem.

The area of triangle formed by the coordinates (x1, y1), (x2, y2), and (x3, y3) is given by
  • A = |x1(y2 - y3) + x2(y3 - y1) + x3(y1 - y2)|/2
Hence, area of the triangle = |1*(1 - 5) + 5*(5 - 3) + 3*(3 - 1)|/2 = |-4 + 10 + 6|/2 = 12/2 = 6

The correct answer is D.
