Remove the fluff - remove the appositive clause - "a novel by Irish author Jennifer Johnston". The sentence becomes clear.

I think the source of confusion is that there are 2 verbs and one of them is in present tense and the other is in present tense. Can these 2 verbs be made parallel in a sentence structure?venjam wrote:Hi all,

Does parallelism apply in this sentence ??
And is generally used in sentences as connectors and maintain parallelism.
But here, 2 statements in different time frames are discussed and hence they cannot be parallel.
Experts, advice. Correct me if I'm wrong.
