I also selected B on the first pass, but when i saw the OA, my reasoning to select D would be: the argument is making appeal about the authority that the authority is right but the other guys are wrong, so i think D makes more sense. Now reasoning not to select B : actually B is very carefully written and i think argument never mentioned the statement presented in B.
BTW nice question.. :)
