My take:

1.a She dances better than me
1.b She dances better than I do

2.a. She sings more beautifully than him
2.b. She sings more beautifully than he does

In the first sentences, verb is compared with a noun. Her dance is compared to me. Apples to Oranges. The second sentences make the comparison correctly.
She/me would be correct when the doer is compared. ... is better dancer than ...
