Because Halley’s

by ektamatta » Sat May 31, 2008 9:18 am
Because Halley’s comet changes orbit slightly during the seventy-six-year interval between passing close to Earth, it may veer onto a collision course with a planet sometime in the distant future.

(A) between passing
(B) of passing
(C) between its passes
(D) of its passes
(E) as it passes

OA is C

The meaning of this question is important to identify the correct answer. The sentence is saying that Halley's comet changes orbit during the seventy six year interval. That means there are 76 years between the 1st event and 2nd event. The event is nothing but the pass and orbit changes during these two events /passes. 76 year time interval between its first pass and second pass. Hence C
