secondary education to underprivileged children. Helped start the Secondary program exclusively
for girls. Project short-listed in Mahindra Spark the Rise.

Past:
(Sep 2012 - Sep 2008 - 4 years) : Worked in India's biggest IT-Service provider in retail and
pharmacy domain. Involved in design and development and process improvement. Also worked as a
module leader in Snap-on Business Solution in the IT-Automobile domain for GM. Received
appreciation from the Director.

Things look very good. In general your first job would be to ease over this transition you made into non-profit work. But that I feel you can do pretty well through storytelling, plus by the time you apply, you will have had two good years behind you, so it shouldn't be that hard!

Where to apply? There's a lot of good schools out there and it's hard to say exactly. Your obvious choice would be to start with the schools with notable strengths in Nonprofit - HBS, Stanford, Yale - and then move your search onto other schools. To be honest though, the kind of consulting work you are looking for can be gotten likely through any of the Top 15 schools. Given the tendency of large NGOs to be coastally-based, you might take that into consideration for reasons of finding an internship.

Looks like you are off to a good start.
