Hey guys, this is my first time in your outstanding forum. I wanted to share my next 45 days strategy for the GMAT...

First of all, I need to tell you something about myself, I'm not a native English speaker "I think you noticed that form the first line." I have to say that I've broken the recored in the verbal section. I mean I have the worst verbal score ever.

I have taken the GMATprep-2 two days befor the test date and scored 490(35Q,22V.) :? However, my score on the real GMAT was a fatality (wors than the 490 fatality). I've gote (32Q,12V.) Please note that I'm one of the worst 5% (don't forget to bring $10 with you, if you want to take a picture with me ;)

I studied the MGMAT books for just 12 days with out practicing any thing! I didn't even tuch the OG11. I have to say that MGMAT books are really good and they teach the skills you need to beat the GMAT unlike KAPLAN's which teach how to guess on the GMAT.

Now, lets take a look at the strategy, Please don't conceal any suggestion about the strategy, the verbal section or my poor English because I'm in need for your suggestions.

Note that the plan was rearranged by subjects.

that looks like a pretty good study calendar. it's ambitious, to be sure.

a couple of comments:

* i like the way you have review dates scheduled toward the end; that's good, because otherwise you'll start to forget the material that you studied at the beginning.

* important: when you say 'og11', do you mean just the yellow og11, or are you including the green quant supplement and the purple verbal supplement in that count? our strategy guides contain lists of problems from all three of the guides, so it's worth your time to get all three of them for practice.
if you don't think you'll have time to practice out of all three, though, the yellow og11 is the way to go. its problems contain a wider range of difficulty and subject material than do those in the purple and green supplements, and there are just plain more of them.

* once you get closer to the end of your study plan, you may want to consider doing something i've called the 'openers drill'. in this drill, you just go through the problems and figure out how you would start each of them; chart out a strategy for the problem, and, as soon as you've figured out how you would do the problem (i.e., don't actually do the problem), move on to the next one.
this is a nice rapid-fire strategy for drilling problems when the exam is getting closer; you can hit 50-100 problems in an hour, since you aren't actually going through with the solution process. moreover, hitting that many problems at once will help to point up any weaknesses of which you might be unaware.

* ALWAYS PRACTICE WITH A STOPWATCH when you're practicing o.g. problems. you don't need a stopwatch to do the in-action problems from the mgmat strategy guides, but you should have one for anything that's actually made to resemble (or actually is) a gmat problem.

good luck!

hey, I want to thank you lunarpower for your instructive respons. I loved the openers drill strategy it sounds really helpful.

I mean OG11 by saying OG11 :) I don't know maybe I'll buy the other books when I get deep in the OG 11

how many hours a day do you think is enough to get the best out of this strategy?

completely impossible for me to answer without all kinds of knowledge about you that i don't have.

you should determine the answer to this question yourself, taking into consideration the following factors:

* the speed at which you absorb new material

* the rate at which you integrate new material (i.e., learn to tie together disparate concepts - especially on certain math problems, such as number properties, you'll often have to use 2 or more different ideas in tandem)

* your rate of RETENTION of new material (if you're a fast forgetter of things, you may want to spend a significant portion of the time on review - perhaps more than just the week you've slated in august)

* your short-term attention span (how much material can you absorb in a single sitting? in a single day?)

* your long-term attention span (how many days of intense studying can you handle in a week? in a 45-day span?)

* your work schedule / the total amount of free time available to you

etc.
