Hey there!thestartupguy wrote:Hi Jon,
I am planning to apply for Round 2 to the following schools - HBS, LBS, Kellogg, Wharton and Booth.
I need your help for the following -
1) Am I looking at the right set of schools? Could you please comment based on my profile and ST/LT goals perspective?
2) If I am not applying to the right set of schools, could you suggest schools that I should consider applying to?
3) Does my ST and LT goals match with my past experience?
Well, are you applying to the right school?? How could anyone call the best programs int he world the "wrong schools" ?
MEaning you have chosen your list seemingly by ranking/prestige. Which is fine.
But you may want to open your mind to other ideas, meaning, schools that fit you based on your goals (which don't get me wrong, can totally be fulfilled by the above programs too). so allow me to paste you from an old post of mine some thoughts about Healthcare programs:
Wharton, Fuqua and Kellogg all have veeeeery strong MBA programs which incorporate a health care emphasis. Wharton has a Health Care Management major, with faculty from the Business, Medical and Nursing schools of the University of Pennsylvania. Kellogg has the Health Industry Management (HIM), really one of the top in the US. Fuqua had a great med school and is near Research Triangle Park, a heaven for healthcare job seekers. You also have Sloan,(Biomedical Enterprise Program) Haas (Healthcare certificate) and Columbia. If this is relevant you can also look into double degree programs that incorporate a Healthcare program with an MBA for example an MBA-MHA, or a MBA-MPH.
Hope this helps!!!
Your goals totally match your experience, so you have nothing to worry about there. The trick will be in convincing the AdComs that you CAN do what you propose. (which we hope you can). But that's why you have your essays.
Btu honestly, with your GMAT and your work experience, you seem like you could have a shot at Top schools. Even if you may want to add one or three more to your list.
