MGMAT CAT's

by rosh26 » Sun Jun 15, 2008 7:38 pm
Hi, I was wondering if the later Manhattan GMAT CAT's scored higher than the earlier ones.

Here are my scores:

GMAT Prep 1: 540 (2 months ago, don't know breakup)
MGMAT Test 1: 610 (Q40, V34) - 4 weeks ago
MGAT Test 2: 600 (Q40, V33) - 3 weeks ago
MGMAT Test 3: 580 (Q35 V34) - 2 weeks ago
GMAT Prep 2: 560 (Q36 V 31) - 1 week ago
MGMAT Test 4: 650 (Q43 V36) - Today!

I have never scored a 650 before, and I was just wondering if I should take the score with a grain of salt and still assume I am between the 550-600 score range - Can someone who has taken the MGAT CAT's and the real GMAT please advise?

Thanks in advance.

I think you may be right about the later MGMAT tests scoring higher. I took my first one last week and got a 630 (Q-36, V40) after scoring consistently 700+ on Princeton Review and GMAT Prep tests. I took the second and third tests yesterday and today and received scores of 700 (Q-43, V-41) and 730 (Q-45, V-45), respectively, but definitely still managed to miss over half of the Quant problems and felt like I was bombing the entire thing during the Quant, yet my scores still improved.

I'm interested to see others' responses to this post as well.

I have always scored over 700 in MGMAT (710 - 760) but everytime I give the test it blasts a hole in my confidence on Quant and I end up spending next week on reviewing Quant. This is even though I have scored over 48 in quant in all my MGMAT tests.

I do not think it is atall representative of GMAT but I do believe it prepares you well for the real exam.

Exactly - I missed 18 out of the 37 questions - how is it possible to have such a high quant score.

I know that if you get 700-800 level questions it is possible, but I am realistic and know my quant is not at that level.
