If ab ≠ 0and points (-a, b) and (-b, a) are in the same quadrant of the xy plant, is point (-x, y) in the same quadrant?
1. xy > 0
2. ax > 0

Answer- C

Answer- C
(1) xy > 0 implies either both x and y are positive or both x and y are negative. So, (1) is NOT SUFFICIENT.
(2) ax > 0 implies either both a and x are positive or both a and x are negative. So, (2) is NOT SUFFICIENT.

Combining (1) and (2), we get that a, b, x and y will be either be all positive or all negative so (a, b) and (x, y) will lie in the same quadrant.
