Hi Hiran:Hiran wrote:Power prep gave me 680 and 690, when I took it.
Took one MGMAT test and this gave me 640 yesterday.
My target is 650+

It seems like you are certainly in range to reach your target score! I don't think you need more than a month of prep.
What verbal subjects were troublesome to you? If it's SC, I recommend taking a look at the SC resources available on the GMAT Resource Wiki. Even better, if you have some money to invest, buy the Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction Guide--as a Beat The GMAT member, you get a 10% discount.

I'd ask Stacy Blackman for advice on your last question. She's the MBA admissions expert!Anonymous wrote:thank you Eric..I am planning to get the Manhattan guide..
One more quick question..It seems my score of 610 is good enough for one of my target colleges because of my wrk experience[5+] and my under graduate GPA[84%]..one of my friends in that institution informed me about this.
Would you recommend that I apply to that school this year itself and see my chances..If they do not accept, I can take it again and apply again next year with a better score..
My question is whether application once rejected hurt me negatively going forward?
thanks again for all your advice!

I don't know what school you are referring to, but as a general rule a reapplication will not hurt you. Some schools can be tougher on reapplications than others, but many schools will say that reapplying shows dedication and perseverance, and is actually a positive. If the only issue with your profile is the GMAT, and you reapply with a higher score, I think that would be very positive for you. You might want to check and see if your target school provides feedback in the event that you are not admitted. Also, you can ask them if they will consider a new GMAT score after you submit your application. You might want to submit your application and then retake the GMAT and send them an improved score. Finally, if you do reapply make sure that you advance your candidacy in between applications. The one way that a reapplication can be frowned upon is if you do not accomplish anything or change anything in between the two applications.
