I gave GMAT recently and scored 560. Iam totally new to this world of GMAT and Iam looking for guidance, whether this score makes me eligible to apply in at least universities which are between the rankings of 30 to 50. I scored a decent score of 47 in problem solving but my scores in english are very low - 21. I have seen colleges taking scores of 530 to 700 as shown in US news.com.
My concern here is what are my chances of getting thru in top 30's colleges of US with 3 yrs work ex. And is it better to apply in 30's to 50's rank colleges or should i go for one more GMAT? I dont wanna waste one more year for trying.Atleast if i have chances of getting thru in colleges in 30's rank.
How much AWA will help in my application as i feel that AWA went well for me?Will that benefit my application in some way?
I got 560 in GMAT.

Hi trhima,
The GMAT doesn't exist in a vacuum - what was your GPA? Work experience? leadership accomplishments?
A 560 is not a great score for the top 30, so it would be worth studying and improving your knowledge of the test and re-taking it. The AWA is not a significant factor in admissions. However, as you pointed out, schools do admit applicants with a wide range of GMAT scores - again, it's not the only factor at all.
Good luck!
