"in that" vs "because"

by ethankafka » Sat Oct 24, 2009 6:24 am
Hi,

I have been reading "in that" is a better choice than "because". However, in Official Guide 11th Edition - SC #51, it says that "in that" has largely gone out of use, thus it is stilted and overly formal.

Could anyone comment on this? If "in that" is the better choice, can someone gives an example?

Thanks,
Ethan
