Linking essays to schools

Is it wise to directly link essays to schools.... Isnt it a bit over eager????

Im trying to demonstrate fit, but it feels a bit like flattery...

Linking your personal Essay to your school should ideally not sound like flattery. Your focus should be on "why and how that specific school" can help you accomplish your goals. Each admissions committee likes to know that you have done your homework on their school. This entails the specific unique programs a school has to offer, that differentiates them from the rest. Each school has something special to offer and you need to tie that into your essay very carefully. Make sure you set the right tone for your Essay.
