Hi All,
In the below question, the OA is "E". Can someone please help me understand why "E" is better then "C" ? As per my understanding
1. "E" is changing the meaning of the original sentence.
2. "E" uses like which is used to compare nouns...for giving examples we use "such as"
Please tell what I am missing here.
The market for recycled commodities like aluminum and other metals remain strong despite economic changes in the recycling industry.
A. commodities like aluminum and other metals remain
B. commodities like those of aluminum and other metals are remaining
C. commodities such as aluminum and other metals remains
D. commodities, such as aluminum and other metals, remain
E. commodities, like the commodities of aluminum and other metals, remains
Thanks
Mohit

aluminium and other metals are just 'metals" not recycled commodities, we do not therefore need the "such as"
we are comparing the market for recycled commodities to the market for metals. so E is correct.

Don't you think we are giving example of particular type of commodities and should use 'such as' in place of 'like' ??
