DS related problem - Deduction from Equations

by sam77 » Wed Jan 21, 2009 5:52 pm
From the 2 equations - a+b=c and ab=c, what can we infer about a or b or c's values?
What if it is a-b=c in place of first equation?

Well the first two equations give you that b - a = ab, which means that b = ab + a, with a = b/(b+1). You should post the original question. If you do, then we might be able to provide a more specific answer.

Sorry, do not have the complete question. I remember these equations from a class that I took.
And I made a typo in the first equation. It should be a+b=c.
But, your deduction sure helps, Danaj. Thanks.
