Hi Guys, I just wanted to thank 60 day Study Guide for keeping me on track!!!! I took my second CAT (MGMAT) - QUANT un timed because I really wanted to identify my weakness and Verbal (timed). I scored 580 :(((((( but I am grateful because a month a go I got a 340 and was ready to give up. My test day is 11/14/11 and I was hoping to get to get 700. I find it hard to believe but I will keep positive and hope for a miracle. I have three weeks left to study and I think verbal should be my focus if I want to raise my score any.

Can anyone suggest quality reading so I can practice, also its seems I have a problem with logical predication and grammatical construction. I have read the answers over and over again but I think am missing something. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve??? Any help will be appreciated.

Good luck to everyone on this journey!!!

Hi

If sentence correction is your problem, then use brute force. Solve at least 100 SC. Again and again. You will muscle your way through.

Relax yourself. You will do well.

Hey,

I have a few suggestions for you as a fellow student:

1. Don't take scores of third party CATs as gold. Give GMAT prep in timed conditions and see how it goes. You can even post the results here so that you can get help identifying your strengths and weakness.
2. Take a break for a day or two as soon as possible to get back your creative thinking - trust me, this helps a lot. When you come back your perspective changes a bit.
3. Concentrate mostly on Official Guide and GMAT prep. GMAT prep has two tests and each of them can be taken at least twice. Use them cleverly. They are as close as the real test(according to the experts). In the last week download all the questions from GMAT prep and go through them. Understand how the questions are set and how to change your thinking.
4. Also don't try to learn too many new things in the last two weeks(this is general advice and not applicable to all).
5. Don't neglect verbal. I have seen that my mock scores of verbal vary widely. A simple concentration lapse can be fatal in verbal. It all looks too easy and then at the end it's devastating.
5. Confidence is the key. Know your strengths and weak points and use them wisely.

All the best.
