Dear freinds
Just appeared for GMAT, this was my first attempt for the test. I manged to scroe 640 (V27 Q49) although in Kaplan my average scores were around 670-680.
Well now the questions is:
1. Will I be eligible or stand any good chances in Top 30 US Schools. I have 3 years work ex as on date. Civil Engineer working in Delhi. If yes please let me know. If not US Canada is also an option.
2. I am planning to retake the exam in one months time. To improve my scores that shall be around Oct 15th. I need to know weather time will permit me to send through my applications with these scores as per Top US colleges in accordance with the deadlines. I need to take admissions in Sep 2011 Intake.
Please suggest as weather to go for retake or applications or both simultaneoulsy provided it finishes on time.

You certainly do have a shot at the Top 30, again it's about how well you can project yourself as an applicant. You need to demonstrate the need and also have a solid post-mba plan. I'm not sure about Canadian universities, but you'll definitely be able to make it to R2 for most of the US universities.
Re-taking is a very personal decision to make, if you think you can push your score close to the 700 range, then I guess it's worth a shot. You also need to analyze whether you'll have time to put in sufficient preparation to make the jump. If not, you could put this time to good use and craft a really solid application, and I'm sure you'll have a shot at a few good US programs.
Good luck!

Is caught between a rock and a hard place!

i feel u can maximum target R2.
i think u need to talk to mba consultants who would evaluate ur profile in detail. also u can visit mba fairs where u can talk to admission committee of different schools
