Step 2, Complete

by McKagan13 » Sat Jan 16, 2010 9:43 pm
Step 1: Take the GMAT. Result, 660. Nothing special.

Step 2: Applications completed and submitted to University of Washington (Foster), UC Davis, UC Irvine and UC Boulder.

Step 3: The dreaded wait. Hope I at least get into one of the programs.

Step 4: Time will tell.

Sounds like you have done all you can do--I am sure you will get offers. Good luck! BTW, 660 is something to be proud of...I would consider that beating the GMAT!

Hey, thanks Bryan! Well, I heard from the first school (UC Irvine) and have a phone interview scheduled for next Wednesday. Haven't really started researching typical interview content yet, but will now. On a side note, starting to get a little nervous since Irvine was the last school I applied to, and the only I heard from. I'm hoping this doesn't mean the others are passing on me.

Congrats on the interview, McKagan13! I wouldn't get nervous yet. If you sent your apps in when you first posted, then it is still very early.

Thanks for the reassurance. I actually heard from UC Boulder and Washington today via e-mail. Have my interview setup with Boulder now as well. The UofW email stated that they were experiencing higher than normal applications, and assured me that the wheels were spinning. Time will tell.

Just received my invite for UW Foster interview. This will be different from the UC Irvine and Colorado phone interviews as I will be meeting the director of admissions in person in NYC. Super excited. Thanks everyone for the encouraging words.

UW is awesome! Everyone that I met in admissions was very friendly and try to make you feel comfortable. Erin Ernst, the director of admissions, usually is the one who does the traveling so I assume you'll interview with her. She is great! Expect an enjoyable interview without any of the "negative" or "trick" questions.

Howdy Howdy,

Just rounded out my interviews with Washington this morning. All-in-all I think it went well, but I don't think I blew her away by any means. Nothing negative, and the conversation flowed very well. I can't pinpoint it, but it seemed a little "generic."

Anyways, now I wait. I should hear a response from UW by 3/26, then it's decision time. I actually received admissions to all the schools I applied to pending Washington, which happens to be my first choice. If admitted, I will certainly accept to UW. In the mean time I'm debating between UC Irvine and CU Boulder, both of which I need to notify by 4/1. I'll keep ya'll posted.

Last night I was sitting in my car keeping warm seeing how my apartment is flooded with no power for 3 days now. Not in the best mood, I received a call from U of Washington. I was admitted to the Foster MBA program this fall 2010. I am super excited as this was my number 1 choice, and thought it might be a bit of a stretch.

I do way more browsing on this site than I do posting and I just want to thank everyone for their great advice. This site truly is a community.
