For short-term, shows admissions officers how business school will be the bridge between what you're doing today and what you'd like to be doing upon graduation. For long-term, show how business school and achievement of your short-term goals will lead toward longer term success in your career.

First, thank you for your service. You have significant military experience and this is generally looked quite favorably upon by business schools. (Schools like the diversity of your experience, as well as leadership capacity.) In terms of specific schools - with those projected GMAT scores, I'd con...

If it's in the US, you should concentrate your search here. If outside the US, you might consider further those programs overseas that have re...

No, it's typically only self-reported. It would be beneficial not to have too significant of a gap in your employment history - from the time you left the startup to the time you decided to go to business school.

Great, that will play to your advantage. In terms of how to address in your Why? essay - be straight with admissions officers. Did you voluntarily leave your startup? If so, why? (Also note this is not necessarily something that needs to be mentioned in your essay.) Either way, you should tie in you...

Your GMAT score certainly doesn't disqualify you from applying to more rigorous and/or selective programs - and with strong application materials, you stand a chance of being admitted. With that said, assuming your existing scores, those are the schools that are a good match for you. We can talk mor...

Use this as a "hook" to admissions officers - your exit can lend immediacy as to why you want to pursue an MBA at this time. What are your interests post-MBA? If it's an area that draws on your previous entrepreneurial experience and combines it with the skills/knowledge that you'll gain i...
