Stratus Prep experience?
I'm a non-finance applicant looking to get accepted first round at HBS, and I was impressed by Stratus Prep's 90%+ first round success statistic. Oddly, though, I haven't seen much in terms of reviews of their program.
Anyone work with them before? I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts.
Thanks!

Interesting analysis. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. I haven't taken a math class since I was 16. I work in a creative field and rarely deal with numbers. On top of this I'm applying to top programs for which most advisors recommend an 80/80 split. The standard caveat, of course, is that if you did ...

That's odd... They say it can take 20 days, but I took mine last week and just received the notification that my official score was available online today.

Just want to make sure I understand this correctly--it's essentially based on the fundamental counting principle, correct? The total number of possible arrangements is simply the factor of each individual operation. Since there are 10 lights, and each can be turned one or off, then there are 2 possi...

Thanks, Vin!
I think you're right about taking a breather and jumping back in with a clear head.
Good luck to you, too!

bruised, but not beaten 700 (Q44 V42)
Man... where to begin. I guess when I read these posts I'm always most interested in someone's professional/educational background, so that's how I'll start. Studied philosophy and graduated from university in 2003. Took my last math class in high school. I'm an advertising creative director, and wh...

Hey! I'm in fashion, too! I'm a creative in advertising, and I was in the same boat. I took my first CAT last summer, and scored a miserable 540. But I'll tell you what was a lifesaver: Manhattan GMAT. I wouldn't say you need to take the classes, unless you like that sort of structure, but the quant...

Thouraya, Sure, there's a pretty straight forward way. You just need to multiply the rate of removal by the amount left... So... If the tank is originally full, and every stroke removes half of the air left, then 1 * 1/2 = 1/2 left after 1 stroke. 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 after two strokes. 1/4 * 1/2 = 1/8 a...

additional math coursework before applying
I want to apply first round to a couple of programs this autumn, but I have no math coursework whatsoever. My plan is to take Calculus I and Statistics I through SUNY Online, but I'm curious if anyone knows the sort of time commitment needed to wrap your head around these classes. I would hope all t...

Mitch, in your solution, when you say plug in twice, you mean just pick arbitrary numbers to fill out your additional angles based on the first angle given in the statements?

Thanks everyone.
Mitch, your plug-in method is so easy--I often overlook this approach.
And the same goes for what manpsingh87 did... I see this sort of reverse distribution problem so infrequently, I forget it can be done!
Got to build that into my repertoire for game day!

GMAT PREP - percentage change
Ok, my last prep review for the day... I'm including two problems here, both of which I got correct, but I was a little shaky on my theory. Basically, I approached them thinking that, in order to determine the change, you need either the new and the old or the percent change from new to old. You don...

GMAT PREP - algebra/exponents
Had trouble with this one. I think you need to expand 3(2^13) to become 2^13 + 2^13 + 2^13, but then I can't make any progress on the left side of the equation.
