Admissions Consultancy Services - Recommendations? HELP!
Hey All, I am trying to decide whether I should use an admissions consultant. They are INCREDIBLY expensive...I am not sure whether they are really worth it. The base price, which I am seeing, is about $250.00 per hour. If I did accept this, the only amount I could afford is about 8 hours. That is a...

Money,
Did you attend an MBA event - the Stanford Many Voices event?
You look familiar!
Just curious.
Anyway, I agree with this post. I think it is all about how you study - quality in the problems. I spoke to a guy who got a 700 who said exactly the same thing!

Hi Money,
I appreciate your thoughts. I also had the assessment with the tutor after my GMAT flub (the last one). Great tutors and wonderful suggestions!
I am going to do those essays every single time. No doubt.
Have a great day,
Angie

I am totally going to try this - I am going to remember to write those darn essays when I take the practice exam. I am also thinking about turning the TV on at that time. Maybe I can also try the library. I will definitely give it a shot. Why not? Anxiety is a total bummer. I have the same issue. Wh...

Do you all feel the guides prepared you? Many folks on here are insisting the actual exam is harder than the books.

Did you really find the MGMAT tests harder than the actual GMAT? A few folks on here stated that the actual GMAT was HARDER than the MGMAT tests. I sure hope you are right. I have definitely taken a few of those, and they were not too bad. I hate this exam - it is such a barnacle on the butt of exis...

Okay, so here is my question on this:
How does one take a practice test in a library? My library does not allow internet access for that long.
Does sitting at your desk (in your office at home) suffice? Complete with ear plugs?

That sounds like a plan. I was just stumped by that, mostly because I definitely do not want to test at a library (although that is a good simulation of the real thing).
Thanks!

Hey there,
Thanks for the post.
My original post was never meant to indicate that test scores are not important. My opinion is this - I agree with you completely.
However, it is nice to hear that someone was admitted with a slightly more unusual profile.

Hey All, I have a question about simulating real test conditions. How does one go about doing that in a library? What if you cannot use WiFi that long? Or, what if you have a battery that simply will not last 3.5 hours? Would sitting at home, with earplugs (and a TV making soft sounds), would that s...

Hello, You know...you may want to read some of the other posts on here about lower GMAT scores. I understand how you feel…100%. I have taken it several times, and I have gotten nothing better than a 550. I must confess – I was and have been letting other outside factors affect my performance. Th...

Hey All, I really have to agree with the expert on this forum. I attended a Stanford event for women about one year ago. A few of those women were intelligent and well-spoken - but had low GMAT scores. I think what happens is reminiscient of what used to happen to me in my highschool marching band d...
