Re: Big numbers
If n = 2×3×5×7×11×13×17, then which of the following statements are true? I. n^2 is divisible by 600 II. n+19 is divisible by 19 III. (n+4)/2 is even A) I only B) II only C) III only D) I and III E) None of the above I - 600 = 2^3 * 5^2 * 3 therefore n^2 is not divisible by 600, coz in denominator ...

2w + y + x = 6-------I w + y + 2x = 3-------II Subtract the 2 equations, we get w-x =3 or w = 3+x we have to find 3x + w = n Substitute the value of w 3x + x + 3 = n 4x+3 = n plug the answer choices. 4x + 3 = 6, x = 3/4 not an integer - eliminate 4x + 3 = 7 , x = 1 integer--answer 4x + 3 = 8, x = 5/...

Re: which of the following must be true?
x^2 = xy
x^2-xy = 0
x (x-y) = 0
Therefore, only 2 cases can be true
either x = 0 or x=y
Therefore, answer has to be A.
Hope this helps.

I totally agree with cramya's solution as posted above. Just want to elucidate the fact: after drawing the figure, we get two similar triangles, with the same base and having 1 angle of 90 degrees each, one with base 12 and another with base 3. The triangle with base 12 has a height 9. Therefore, 12...

Here is another method: Pluggin In number
Let total distance = 100
75/50 = T1
25/S = T2
T1 + T2 = (75S + 1250)/50S
Avg. Speed = Total Distance/ Total time
40 = 100 /(75S + 1250)/50S
40 = 5000S / (75S +1250)
3000S + 50000 = 5000S
2000S = 50000
S = 25
Hope this helps.

Total distance = x
75%x/50 = T1
25%x/S = T2
T1+T2 = 75%x/50 + 25%x/S = (12Sx + 200x)/800S
X/(T1+T2) = 40
x / (12Sx + 200x)/800S = 40
800Sx = 480Sx + 8000x
320Sx = 8000x
cancel x from both sides
S = 8000/320 = 25
OA?

Rajib, Whats the break up of verbal and quant?
As far as filing the complaint or case, I personally think its good that you did. At least it takes weight off your mind. Plus, it may be possible that scores get revised or it remain the same, either way you have nothing to lose.
All the best.
