20/20 * 1/19 = 1/19

for the first shoe, you can take any out of 20. so probability = 20/20
haven chosen the shoe, we are left with only 1 matching shoe out of the remaining 19, so probability = 1/19

a. -4
b. -2 [2 more than A]
c. -1 [3 more than A]
d. 2 [6 more than A]
e. 5 [9 more than A]

nice, so we do have a pattern ... 4 answers have a difference of a multiple of 3 except B ... 3, 6, 9 are all multiples of 3

so we can select B without solving much

time taken by A & B working together = a*b/(a+b)

60b/(60+b)=24
b=40
b takes 40mins to complete the task

B in a minute=x/40
A in a minute=x/60

x/40-x/60=5

x=600

a leak can empty in 8 hrs but it took 12 hrs to empty ... so it basically emptied 1.5 tank
thus, 0.5 tank was filled by inlet pipe

rate of inlet pipe = 360 ltr/hr
in 12 hrs = 360*12 lts

capacity of tank is double of what inlet pipe emptied = 360*12*2 = 8640 ltrs

i'll use almost the same method as eaakbari has ... except i'll make use of the following equation. time taken by A & B working together = a*b/(a+b) at 7am .. A has traveled half the distance .. so time till destination = 2hrs time required by B to travel half the distance = 3.5/2 = 7/4 time tak...
