Nothing will ever replace practice. Do as many practice exams as possible, analyze your mistakes, then take another practice exam. Once you know the basics I don't think anything can beat out practice, practice, practice. Some practice exams don't give you explanations or let you go over your mistak...

UPDATE.

I got a 6.0 on the AWA Essay.

While they say the essay is unimportant for apps, I pride myself on my writing ability so this was a nice win for me.

I'm glad that small error didn't cost me.

Is business school a waste of time?

I was thinking about it the other day. Business school, especially elite business school, is pretty expensive and costs two years of your life. Since I'm not too interested in Finance, would my time and money be better spent starting a company with the money I'd spend in business school and reading ...

In terms of hours its hard to say per day or per weeks, but in total amount of time spent studying it would be around 80-90 hours in total.

Ok sorry if this comes in disjointed but I'm at work so I'm going to give you guys the nitty gritty of my GMAT experience as quick as I can. beatthegmat, Thank you for the opportunity. Your program was so good I can't put it into words. I really appreciate it. I'm strongly considering applying to gmat manhattan as a tutor, simply because it has what I consider one of the best instructions I've ever taken, across all subjects, not just st...

I was scoring the 780-800 on the MGMAT and the GMATPrep.

For the amount of time I studied and my score, I should be very grateful, it just feels like I didn't get what I could have gotten.

For all intensive purposes, it is what I needed though.

Confusing situation 760 GMAT score

Overall, I'm actually disappointed in my score. In my practice tests I was scoring between 780-800 so I was expecting a score in that range. However, the exam threw a bunch of questions I wasn't overall comfortable with. Additionally, I don't think I did great on the essays. Probably 4-5. I guess I'...

PhD in business (management of technology and innovation)

I was toying with the idea of getting a PhD in business.

Did anyone go this route? I'm wondering what being a PhD student is like in business school. I'm wondering what the pay is for these kinds of guys. During business school and afterwards.

Any doctors in the house?

LOL before eric's post I was about to post my essay, but now I realize that is probably not a good idea. Thanks for the heads up eric.

I realize 99.99% of everyone here wouldn't even think about plagiarism, its the .01% I worry about.

Thanks for all of the congratulations. I'm very happy to have the second place prize given to me and I will be attending the courses live perhaps in one to two months. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for being awarded the second place prize. It may be valued at $1,790, but in my mind havin...
