Re: folks
i tried to push numbers out for this and wound up with n=10 and y=2.2 when i plugged them into the answer choices not one of the roman numerals gave an integer. So my first answer is none will give an integer. I tried to break this up into primes but then got lost. can someone explain this to me in...

Although needs a contrast,so we prefer C, B and D. However, A cannot be, since "until almost 1900" between two commas is ambiguous. B uses "had not begun seriously studying", that's incorrect because it comes after(in the time) that "poets had professed" C uses a wrong ...

Hi, I guess that the trick is in understanding that A(1) is part of the sequence. This is true because, as stated, n can be n=2. So, from the statement we know that for A(2)= A(2-1) but A(2-1)=A(1)! so we know that A(1) is still following the rules of the sequence. But, of course we know that A(1) i...

I'm not an expert, ma I will tell you my view. Given the construction "indicate + that.." we can eliminate A and B. So remain: C. that there are few people who have significantly reduced the amount of driving they do, nor having made "Nor having made" has no sense, why change the...

Yes, I'm sorry but your reasoning is wrong.. Let's have a look at it: 1/2 *(H/root2)*(H/root2)). Let's take the first piece: (H/root2)*(H/root2)) is equal to (H^2/2). This happens because H*H = H^2 and root2*root2= 2 Then, (H^2/2) must be divided by 2, so we can write it as: (H^2/2)*(1/2) that is eq...

OK, try to imagine: There is a group of 10 people. 4 are not sick, so don't have fever or iflammation. 4 have inflammation 4 have fever. You see the the sum is 12? but we have 10 people.. This happens because someone of them has inflammation and has also fever. in fact 2 have both inflammation and f...

Hi, how you wrote we need to apply this formula: I+ F + Neither - Both = Grand total But first, let's clarify what we are looking for. We are asked to find the number of child who developed inflammation but not fever. This is equal to the number of children who got an inflammation minus the number o...

Here my point of view: C) An executive who is heavily committed to a course of action is likely to miss or misinterpret signs of incipient trouble when they do appear, especially if it has worked well in the past. It's right, look at the construction. First part Subject (an executive)+ modifier (who...

Given that a triangle with 45-45-90 is a special right isosceles triangle, you know that the hypotenuse is equal to X*root2 and the two other sides are equal to X. Since the hypotenuse is H, the other to sides are both equal to H/(root2). The area of a triangle is (base * height)/2 so: (H/(root2))*(...

Unfortunately I have to disagree with B, that it seems, to me, not sufficient. Infact, P^3 <= -1 and you suppose P^3 = -8 then P = -2. But in this way you forget that P can be also equal to -1; let's try: -(-1) + (-2^-1) = 1 - 1/2 = 1/2 m= 1/2 M^3 = 1/8 <1 So B is not sufficient. Other opinions woul...

Hi, i thought that the problem should be started in this way: 3*(1+x)^20=9 Since 3, increase of a percent constantly every month: 3(1+x)*(1+x)*(1+x)*(1+x)= 3(1+x)^4 should be the value of the dollars at the end of the first year. Unfortunately, then I don't see how to calculate in a easy way the val...
