I’d go with C 1. y = x + 1 Xy = x(x+1) Xy = x^2+x Insuff. 2. y = x^2+1 Xy = x(x^2+1) Xy = X^3+x Insuff. 1+2 X+1 = x^2+1……………or x = x^2 0 = X^2 – x 0 = X(x-1) Case 1: x = 0 Then XY must equal 0 Case 2: x-1=0…………………….or x = -1 Plug this back into first equation y = x+1 Y ...

I would go with E (Y)(M) = (X)(K) (a) 1. If x is a factor of Y, then we still do not know anything about M and K. Insuff. 2. It is not enough to know that K is less than or equal to M. We need to know if k is a “factor of M. 1 + 2 . No additional info. E I also used numbers that matched the con...

Re: 740

Hi, I bought OG-11 in the mid of April. First I did the diagnostic test in OG. I found that my quant was excellent ( :P ) but the lowest rating was for SC. Great score. Congratulations. Glad to see hard work pay off like this. You mentioned that you did not have much trouble with quant from the beg...

Mike, Thanks for the reply and I agree with most of what you are saying. I do feel, however, that once you start to get into the range of taking the exam more than 3 or 4 times, it can start to have an adverse effect on your application. It is my understanding that although the admission committees ...

In my opinion, this is really not a problem that lends to algebra. And if it did, Ian would have showed us.

Appreciate the reply. I cancelled becuase I was simply not comfortable with the number of questions on which I guessed. I completely guessed on at least 12 problems. Furthermore, I did not have much confidence in at least 6 or 7 more problem that I did get through. Again, remember that I had taken t...

Couldn't get it done. Any tips?

Hi , So I was hoping to come on here and scream at the top of my lungs how I killed the GMAT but unfortunately I am not able to do so. I actually had to ‘cancel’ the score. A little background – I have taken the test three times and my scores were 570, 620, & 660. This was last year. I sta...

trooper,

Awesome score. If you don't mind me asking, do you have some type of background in Math? Or does math just comes easy to you? Also, may be I missed it but how many weeks/months did you spend preparing for the math section?

Thanks in advance.

Q, Is X -ve number?? 1, 9x > 10x 2, x+3 is +ve Just divide the first inequality by X. If x is positive We get: 9 > 10. Which is not possible x must be negative because the sign would flip when dividing by a negative number. 9 < 10. Suff. 2. x + 3 > 0 x > -3 X can be any number, positive or negative ...
