I'm also interested in programs at University of Tampa, but I'm not sure how good the school is! Founded in 1931, so it's nice and old. According to US News, in the South, UT is a Tier 1 school for all master's programs. Ranked 26th in the South.

Should I report my GMAT scores if they weren't requested?

What happens if I am applying to programs not usually used to seeing gmat scores? I keep reading everywhere that 680/690+ is what is needed to get into the top 10 business schools - this is true because business schools have experience with the GMAT, and they know what high scores are. I'm worried b...

Hello Linda, Thank you for your advice. I definitely recognize that the GMAT isn't everything, and that the other components of an application are equally important. But here is another question: What happens if I am applying to programs not usually used to seeing gmat scores? I keep reading everywh...

690 on GMAT - Really low looking quant percentile...

Hello! I just got a 690 on my GMAT, and I'm very happy with it! The breakdown: 47Q (79%) and 38V (83%) Should I include the percentages in my apps? They will change over time, and I feel like they are very skewed right now. 79% for a 47 in quant? That percentage sounds so ugly - like I got a C! The ...

I almost disqualified myself!!!

But it was no big deal - I wrote my scores on my wrist because I didn't know we got a printout at the end - I showed the lady and she was like normally we would write an incident report, but you showed us that you wrote it, so no problem. I was like PHEW!! Anyways, I got a 690 (88%)!!! 47Q (79%) and...

From reading your posts, I think the best way for you to dramatically improve your score is to practice writing with perfection! Cut out all the abbreviations, make sure everything is spelled correctly, and use proper punctuation. In addition, start reading a smartly written magazine or newspaper. T...

New type of questions on OG12??

Hello!

I've read recently that there are some new types of questions in the critical reasoning section of OG 12. Since I've been studying with OG 11 and my test is tomorrow, I'm a little bit worried.

Could any of you post one or two difficult new cr questions from OG 12?

I think the answer is C - both pieces of info are needed to figure it out. 1- insufficient on its own because the info doesn't indicate in which directions each slope points. We do know, however, that they intersect, so one slop must point down and one must slope up. The one that slopes down is the ...

IMO the answer is C.) 2/5 SOLUTION A: The formula for combinations (since order is not an issue) is: n!/(k!(n-k)!) This is what we can use to figure out how many different ways there are to arrange the 5 apples so that there are groups of 2 chosen. 5!/(2!(5-2)!) 5!/(2!3!) 5x4x3x2x1 / 2x1 x 3x2x1 Can...

IMO the answer is C.

Neither statement is sufficient alone, but together you see that all three variables must be either negative or positive. Based on the initial assumption that XYZ is greater than zero, negative is ruled out. All variables are positive, so X is greater than 0.

IMO A: Wrong - Cosmetics testing is outside the scope of the discussion. This would be a new point against animal testing in general, not a counterargument about drug testing. B: Wrong - This would not be an effective counterargument because there are still many diseases that need to be cured and tr...

Two issues...

Issue 1: 5^k - 5^(k-1) = 5^k - (1/5)5^k Is this true because regardless of the value of k, a negative one in the power means that it is at least divided by 5 once? So would 5^(k+1) = 25^k ? Issue 2: ax^2 + bx = c = 0 When we use the quadratic formula to find x, we end up with two roots, right? Are t...

OMG My practice test score today was amazing! But...

I started lightly studying for the test about 3 weeks ago, and my practice test scores were as follows: 1.) April 18th-ish, before any studying: GmatPrep 1: 670 - I didn't write down the scaled scores or percentages. 2.) April 26th, after completing the OG11 diagnostic test, OG11 math review, and co...

I think the answer is A as well.

If we were seeing how long it would take them to produce 500 feet together it would be:

1/2 + 1/3 + 1/5 = 1/T

But since they are making 1000 feet:

1/4 + 1/6 + 1/10 = 1/T
15/160 + 10/60 + 6/60 = 1/T
31/60 = 1/T

Cross-multiply => T=60/31

Thanks! That totally makes sense! I remember getting a question like this before, and I basically sat there and wrote out all the possible options. OOH maybe you know how to do this question too: How many three digit numbers are there that are over 700 and have two of the same digit with the remaini...
