5 hours @ 50mph = 250 miles

1 gallon at this speed = 30 miles

250 miles -> 25/3 gallons = 8 1/3 gallons

As a fraction of 12 gallons (full tank) = (25/3)/12 = 25/36 E.

Price of enhanced computer and printer = 2500 + 500 = 3000

Price of printer = 1/5 x 3000 = 600

Therefore, price of basic computer = 2500 - 600 = 1900

The distance between the centre of the two wheels is the same as the horizontal part of the belt.

The part that is touching each wheel is equal to half the diameter for each one.

Answer = (Total length - 2 x half circumference)/2
= (15 - 2 x pi x 0.5)/2
= (15 - pi)/2 A.

From the ratios 1/4 of the juice is concentrate (3/4 water)

Total number of ounces of juice = 200 x 6 = 1200 oz

Amount of concentrate = 1/4 x 1200 = 300oz

Number of 12-ounce cans = 300/12 = 25 = A.

You are getting it wrong because there are alternating signs. This is one way you could look at it. There are others. T = 1/2 - 1/4 + 1/8 - 1/16 + 1/32 - 1/64 + ... = (1/2 - 1/4) + (1/8 - 1/16) + (1/32 - 1/64) + ... = 1/4 + 1/16 + 1/64 + ... This sum will be a little bit more than a quarter. Thus an...

I would just work with the product of prime factors. So 96 = 2 x 48 = 2 x 2 x 24 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 12 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 6 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x 3 = 2^5 x 3 Obviously its faster if you see that 32 is a factor and 32 = 2^5 Therefore, 96^2 = (2^5 x 3)^2 = 2^10 x 3^2 Is this what you were asking? Is there a...

Call remaining vertex (a,b)

Average of x co-ords:

(0+6+a)/3 = 3
6+a = 9
a = 3

Average of y coords:

(0+0+b)/3 = 2
b/3 = 2
b = 6

So missing co-ord is (3,6) B.

For rest of the equations you get one or two variables i.e x=x or y+z = y+z(so variables could be of any value, not necessarily the value given in choices).

Correct me if I am wrong.
You are wrong because if z = 0, then x can equal anything.

Simon paints 1/2 the house in one hour and Sam paints a 1/3 if the house in an hour. Therefore in one hour 5/6 of the house has been painted between them.

Then, it take 12 mins to paint 1/6 of the house
-> it take 1h 12 mins to paint the whole house.

Length of radius of the circle: {(-root(3))^2 + 1^2}^1/2 = {3+1}^1/2 = 2 Angle made between lines BO and the y axis: cos x = 1/2 (adj/hyp) x = 60 deg Therefore angle made between y axis and AO: 90 - 60 = 30 Length of AO = 2 So x co-ordinate of A = 2 sin 30 = 1 OA? The question is what has to happen. If x is 1, y doesn't have to be 1, it can be anything. It's asking for the exact situation where the equation is true.

The way you are thinking all of the options would work.

All of B doesn't have to be true because y can take any value if x = 1.

Very difficult to explain without the aid of a diagram. The area enclosed by the function is a square with vertices at (10,0), (0,10), (-10,0) and (0,-10). Each quadrant of the co-ordinate axes has the same triangle (and there are 4 of them). Area of triangle = 1/2 x 10 x 10 = 50 Total area = 50 x 4...
