5 x 124 = 620. now median is 140, that leaves us with 480. Now the shortest possible length of the two largest piece of woods is 140. i.e. x,y, 140,140,140 would give you largest possible length of smallest wood. That leaves us with 620-420(=140+140+140) = 200. So x could be 60 and y could be 140. 1...

Let me take a shot The concept is angle is subtended at the center is twice as much as angle subtented by chord. Since angle ABF is 30 deg, angle ACF would be 60 deg and since angle BFG is 30 deg, angle BCG is 60 deg. Now take a look at the attachment. The area of the shaded portion = Area of circle...

Just curious, Can we assume rectangle to be two 30-60-90 degree traingles?
In which case diagonal length is enough to answer the question. Please advise.

Factors of 60 are 12, 6,4,3,2,1 To find out if n is one among them St 1 - (1) 48 is a factor of 3n...in this case n could be 1,2 or 4 insufficient as rest of factors are not divisors of 48. (2) 60 is a factor of 5n...again n could be 1,2,4 or 6..insuficient Combining both......still insufficient. I ...

If d = 1/(2^3*5^7) is expressed as a terminating decimal, how many nonzero digits will d have?
A. One
B. Two
C. Three
D. Seven
E. Ten
Above expression could be written as d = 1/ 10(2x5)^3 x 5^4. Hence there will be 3 zeros and 3 non zeros i.e d=1/625000. IMO C.

If I substitute the given points in line eqn y= mx+c, I get r =-5m+c
Now, st 1 says slope is -5 -> r =-25+c ..Insufficient
St 2 says r >0, but we don't know the slope.
Combining 1 & 2 ...+r=-25+c...sufficient. Hence C.

Is the question stem not asking "how many different factors are there?" ...so both 1 & 2 are sufficient, right?

Hi abcdefg, You could look for the words such as "% greater than or % increase" to decide if you need to use % change i.e 5-2/2 = 150% .If the question X is what % of Y, then use the fraction i.e 5/2 = 2.5. So dolphin and blue whale comes out to the surface in the ratio 5:2 and dolphin com...

I used the same approach however 533-66 = 467 and not 434. So the answer is 1000-467 = 533 numbers are not divisible by either 3 or 5.
Thanks!

For rest of the equations you get one or two variables i.e x=x or y+z = y+z(so variables could be of any value, not necessarily the value given in choices).
Correct me if I am wrong.

If only 7 & 77 are there in the series, don't we require 10x(multiples of 10) 7s to get a number that ends with 0. Answer is straight C, am I missing something here??
