Hey Jay, I just used google to study geometry. Pretty much everything you need to know is available online. E.g. google "properties of quadrilaterals" or things like that and it will give you many links that provide the important properties of quadrilaterals. Other than that, practicing pr...

I did a Manhattan test first and scored, 550 Q33 V33. I have to be honest, the quant section of the Manhattan exam scared the bejesus out of me. It was hard as nails - I completely froze - paused it for ages - stormed round the flat swearing. It totally knocked my confidence. Been there done that! ...

Actually, my post was a little premature. It turned out that the first test online was not a CAT but the remaining ones were. The first test was non-adaptive and more like a practice set but the remaining tests were CATs. The online CATs are a better source than the CD because they are updated where...

I have done all MGMAT CATs and both PowerPreps. Got in the 700-770 range on those. I was supposed to give the exam yesterday but missed my appointment coz I forgot to carry my passport. :( But I don't think the Kaplan test I did was hard at all compared to MGMAT or PowerPrep which is what confuses m...

Unusual Observations from Kaplan CAT/Practice Test
I took a Kaplan online "practice test" today and had some really weird observations that don't make sense to me: 1. I got all questions correct in the quant section and was given a score of 49. The questions were not that difficult and I'm wondering if this was a CAT or not? Even so how ca...

I'm guessing the question is to solve for m?
[(1/5)^m] * [(1/4)^18] = 1/[2 * (10)^35]
[(1/5^m)] * [(1/4^18)] = 1/[2 * (2)^35* (5)^35]
[(1/5^m)] * [(1/2^36)] = 1/[(2)^36*(5)^35]
1/[(2)^36*(5)^m] = 1/[(2)^36*(5)^35]
m=35
Let me know if you need help with any of the workings.

If n is a positive integer and r is the remainder when n^2-1 is divided by 8, what is the value of r? 1)n is odd 2)n is not divisible by 8 You might notice that this is a difference of squares: n^2 - 1 = (n+1)(n-1) If n is odd, then n-1 and n+1 are consecutive even integers. If you take any two con...

I was just thinking about this issue today.. what a coincidence. I'm having REAL problems sleeping at night. My exams at 8am in less than 2 weeks and I'm trying to get in to the habit of sleeping early but I'm unable to get sleep before midnight and then end up not waking up before 8:30ish. Like las...

John I would agree with you if the book was included with the exam fees. However, the book is purchased separately and costs around the same as any other GMAT book. You buy the book to study for the test so you expect the book to teach you what you need to know. They are in the business of administe...
