thanks Stuart, appreciate it... I was overlooking this part of the hidden trick.... my thinking direction was following: X/Y >1 => 2) as X > Y and 1/4 > -1/4 and so was my answer... Now going with your hint, so now I know that 2) => X and Y are either both positive or both negative Now, how 1) helpi...

hi... I am back after a gap (courtesy my tiring office work), trying to check how am I doing.. Ques: Are X and Y both positive? 1) 2X - 2Y =1 2) X/Y >1 A. 1 alone is sufficient B. 2 alone is sufficient C. Together sufficient D. Each sufficient E. I am interested to know which " some mistake in between" i did, as you mentioned....I had deduced the RIGHT answer (4a/6b = 2/3 * sqrt [ (3* sqrt 3) /2)]...Harsh also quoted that) but it needed some "massaging" to map with right choice but I didn't have patience to do that massag...

I realized that after seeing the OA.... looking at None choice made me jump to decide on it faster.....yeah, need to be more careful...as it clearly shows that even if you have done right calculation and have right answer, you may not pick the right choice :) thanks anyway, for your better explanati...

Shashank, i think you need to elaborate the solution little better.... Also, somehow, it seems to me that question is little obscure.....I can interpret it that its saying each motorcyclist would go one round in one direction and then second round in opposite direction...so 2 rounds by each one........

I think Question should be corrected: instead of asking "how much greater", should be put: "how much more"
and as shashank shown below, answer would be 72-32 = 40
