All numbers cannot be classified as even or odd, sqrt(2) is an irrational number, so you can say sqrt(2) is neither even nor odd.

Basic check for even no. is when it is divided by 2 must leave a remainder 0 and in this case it doesn't holds true.

I think here we are comparing genes to pearl, so like should be used to compare nouns.

also, if we use 'as' to compare- genes can jump as pearl can move, It sounds awkward because pearls cannot practically move. So comparison here is between Genes and Pearl.

Same problem i faced, I was consistently scroing 700+ in my practice GMAT exam and in real GMAT I scored 670 and screwed the test mainly verbal.

I am also planning to retake the test may be this month, however, i will concentrate more on giving practice test.
