statement one is y=x<yx

I got this from site. On my print out, the statement is y+x<y x
There is gap in between<y and x. so I am not sure if it is y*x or y-x?

(1), the unit number of m could be 2 or 7
(2) m could be 64 or 87.
together, still not sufficient.

The answer is B. I think because the first one can come out with a^3-a^2=48. a= 4 or -3.
the second one is b=-1, or 2.
B=-1 a=4
B=2, no values for a.

thus answer is B.
