GMAT score advice

Dear Lisa, I'd be grateful for your advice on my GMAT score. I think I need a sense check as I'm thinking too much about it and cannot assess reasonably any more... Question: Would you recommend retaking GMAT? My best score to date is 700=90 percentile (Q50=95 percentile, V34=69 percentile, AWA 6.0)...

tone of essays

Dear Nikhil, Can you please advise on the tone of application essays? I was wondering whether informal speach can be moderately used? For example: would it be ok to include in an essay a sentence starting with or containing "Imagine the situation..." or "Have you ever wondered..."...

Causation question

Can somebody please be so kind as to explain me why the ans is E and not D (example comes from Kaplan's GMAT 800 - but I still don't get the explanation). Reading skills among high school students in Gotham have been steadily declining, which can only be the result of overcrowding in the schools. Wh...

Difficulty of DS in OG

I've done all DS questions from OG and although I made some mistakes, I found the questions relatively easy (overall). I read that OG11 is sorted by difficulty level, but even questions at the end of the chapter were not so difficult. On the other side I saw in the Internet some DS questions which a...

Thanks Eric for reply. I still don't get it though ;-(. Can you be so kind as to provide some example or so...? I found the term "back to back" in Ursula's thread (the one recommended to read as a good example of studying) and also in one of your posts ( http://beatthegmat.blocked/2005/04/...

No clue how to solve it

Spent 1h and still no clue... Any help greatly appreciated! Six people raced together. If the gold medal winner finished the race in 15 minutes, and no any two athletes finished the race in the same time, did the silver medal winner finish the race in less than 15 minutes and 40 seconds? 1). The ave...

Hi, I saw couple of times term "back-to-back" for RC passages. Can anybody please shed some light on this type of RC? What's this, how to tackle it and maybe some examples? Thanks!

Neither

I got confused about 'neither'. In principle it should be singular (at least I was taught this way). However I found something like this (below) - can anybody confirm/deny: P.S. Please forget the strange use of "apple" and "orange" - it's more for illustrative purposes. 1) "...

Couple of questions re application requirements

Dear Stacy and Amy, I'd appreciate your advice on the following issues: 1) Length of work experience: Is the length of candidate's work experience measured at the time of submitting the application or at the time of starting the MBA (which - on average - is 1yr after application)? I mean it's often ...
