Make sure your work exp. is especially interesting. You'll need to stand out in leadership and build an alternative transcript. Have really good essays. I have the same #'s as you 2.6GPA - I took 2 math classes in college one of the 3 times and had a downward trend of 2.2 my senior year. 680 GMAT. I...

D-Day

It's D-Day today. Let me know if anyone gets an interview invite so I can stop checking my e-mail.

There are two things to consider if you don't have work exp.

1. Can you get into the school.
and also the one people don't think about too much.
2. Can you get the job you want when you're done. When you're competing against people who have MBAs and job exp., how are you going to convince someone worthwhile to hire you? It is possible, just harder.

No worries, plenty of people get in from the waitlist. Interesting that there was no interview.

It's good to be honest to some degree. Most schools won't ask you about it and use it just to keep stats. When my wife interviewed with U of Chicago (Alumni interview), they not only asked her, but challenged her on whether or not MIT was a good finance school. The interviewer (asshole) called up a ...

The winner is....

The winner is anyone going to LBS. There's a massive discount on sterling and it's only going to get better. You just might have some problems landing a finance job when you get out.

Carnegie Mellon Application Fee Waiver

Did anyone else get an invite to apply to CMU with an application fee waiver based on your GMAT?

680 with a 2.6 GPA in Poly Sci. I'm a little surprised to get this and am wondering what's going on.

I think the length of your work experience or your age is irrelevant. What matters is the quality of your experiance. People tend to get caught up in a numbers game by looking at averages for a school. Just write some good essays that prove you 1) know what you're doing. 2)Fit in the school, and you...

How long did it take after the deadline to get notification?

How long does did it take to get a response from LBS? Other schools seem to have a turn around of about a week. Does LBS wait till the posted interview deadline date to offer interviews?
