The easiest way to solve this problem is to first find how many ways 2 people can sit in 4 empty desks and then minus out the arrangements where they sit together. When the first of 2 people first see the seats he sees 4 seats. If he sits down the next person will see 3 seats. So the total possible ...

I had a lot of problems with reading comprehension as well. There are two major parts to reading well speed and comprehension. The trick to improving speed is to try not to say the words silently in your head. If you're having a lot of problems try using your finger to help guide your eyes. Also the...

I like to solve these problems methodically
Now
k = 24
d = 0
x years into the future we add x to each of their ages
k+x = 5 (d + x) - 4
k + x = 5d + 5x - 4 [substitute k = 24 d =0]
24 + x = 5x - 4 [add 4 to both sides]
28 + x = 5x [subtract x from both sides]
28 = 4x
x =7

First don't panic. A low score is just an indicator that you need more prep. Kaplan tests are not good indicators of your real score. That said 600+ is very doable with or without a prep class. It depends on the kind of person you are. For some test prep companies offer you a structured way of study...
