If you try applying the same strategy to other questions, you'll find you can do so in under 30 seconds, at which point it will take very little time to analyze the statements.Brent@GMATPrepNow wrote:seems way too long to do in under 2 minutes.hoppycat wrote: Brent

I think I already know the answer (no), but I'll ask anyway. On the search tool here http://www.beatthegmat.com/forums/tags/ ... properties is there a way to filter certain levels of difficulty?

Can you explain the part in red. I don't see why we multiply by 7 and 8 Suppose you've arranged your six people: ABCDEF. When you go to place G, you have the following empty spaces: _ A _ B _ C _ D _ E _ F _ There are seven _'s, so we've got 7 ways to place that person. If we chose the second one, ...

[ I'm not sure why you said y ≥ 0 and what you did when you multipllied both sides. Can you clarify We know y ≥ 0 because we can't have a negative number of yellow marbles. (y = the # of yellows) When I manipulated both sides, I did the following: 12 / (12 + y) < 2/ 5 cross multiply: 12 * 5 <...

I got one! I think. I did 4C2 for the bottom and 1 (just the x+y and x-y pair) for the top. prob = 1/6 That the correct way right? Also, would the answer be different if they didn't have that part about b is an integer? I don't know why they tell us that. Also, what's the difficulty level for this?
