PQ = sqrt (4^2+3^2)=5
Similarly, PR = sqrt (7^2+ 1^2) = sqrt(50)=5sqrt(2)
QR=5

which gives us an isosceles triangle,
Area = (1/2) * base * height
=> (1/2) * 5 * 5= 12.5

1/b=b/c=c/8
Therefore, from eqn (1)
1/b=b/c => b^2=c
And from eqn (2)
b/c=c/8 => c^2=8b

from (1) & (2) we have,

Replacing c in terms of b,
b^4=8b
=> b^3=8 ; b=2

Replacing b=2 in eqn (1) we have c=4
Hence b+c=6

Rounding off Q Solution

10.0000-1.4ab5= 8.5(9-a)(9-b)5 Our number is 8.5(9-a)(9-b)5 1) we know 10-x = 8.56 then the no can be 8.5615 & 8.5565 and still yield on rounding to nearest hundredth digit 8.56 hence Unsufficient 2) 10-x = 8.564 9-a = 6 In 8.5(9-a)(9-b)5, When we round it to nearest thousandth 9-b must become (...

100 -----> (40% discount) 100 X 0.6=60
20% profit on marked price:
Let MP be x
x * 1.2=60
=> x = 50

MP = 50
SP = 100
Since 50 + 50 = 100
Hence it is a 100% increase

Solution to % increase problem

100 ---> (10%) 100 X 0.1=110
110 ---> (20 %) 110 X 0.2=132

132-100= 32$ increase
(Change/Original)*100 = (32/132)*100= 24%
