another question. I"m going to just throw all ammo I can to get accepted. Since they only ask for 2 letters of reccommendation, can I add a 3rd one? Does it make postive or negative difference in my application? Just like this 'letter of explanation' that she mentioned, it's not required, but I...

I'm just trying to apply to a state mba school in oklahoma. nothing fancy, and the standards are not as strict, but I still do not qualify. This is what the mba director suggested for me: ".....While a 2.6 is below the required 3.0 GPA, the MBA Admissions Committee does look at all factors when...

just got beat by the GMAT. suggestions
It's partially my fault actually. I did not study at all the last month of the GMAT due to some personal issues at home, so I pretty much went in there kind "semi-cold." I was mentally exhausted from stuff at home so really just went in there without much effort. finished the Quant portion...

past tense, past perfect tense, etc etc
Im reviewing some of the questions and also I got this one correct, I did it only because it sounded correct. If I thought any harder, I know that I can get it wrong. Though most paper currency was at one time backed by fixed assets such as gold or silver, it now derives its purchasing power from a ...

'that' vs 'which' and 'has' vs 'have'
when do you use 'that,' and when do you use 'which?' Jean-Jacques Rousseau contended that man is good only when in "the state of nature" but is corrupted by society, that compels man to compare himself to others. A. man is good only when in "the state of nature" but is corrupted ...

solving for x when exponents involved.
If 4^x + 4^(-x) = 2, which of the following is the value of x? a -1 b -1/2 c 0 <---- OA d 1/2 e 1 the easiest way is to plug it in, but how do you solve this algebraically? my attempt: -match the base: 4^x + 4^(-x) = 2 ==> 2^2^x + 2^2^(-x) = 2^1. -drop the base ==> 2x + 2(-x) = 1. ==> 2x -2x = 1. ==...

update
update: so today, I sucked it up and took the first practice GMAC exam.
results:
530(V34, Q 28).
It was probably pure luck on the 42Q I got on the mgmat.
still a pretty bad score, but at least it wasn't as bad as I thought. will continue studying until may 2nd (test day), and see what happens.

wow....feel really pumped up now!
If anyone has been following my threads, I have been seriously struggling with the GMAT for the past 6 months. I have taken 4 mgmat exams and the results were very bad: quant: range from 22 to 26. verbal: range from 26 to 30. Total score was 420 to 470. I took the 5th mgmat exam and lo and behold: 6...
