Definitely, definitely take a course if you can't stay motivated on your own. The GMAT is truly not a fun thing to tackle, and it's pretty common to struggle with motivation. I have not used any of Manhattan GMAT's materials so I can't comment on them personally. I am doing Princeton Review's online...

haha, good one, Eric.
Do practice questions on weeknights, like one question type at a time for an hour or so. Then take a full test on the weekends.
Good luck!

I think that sounds good. Just be sure to review your answers to look for patterns in your errors.
I didn't take any Manhattan GMAT tests, so I don't know if they have decent answer explanations, but definitely review the ones in PR's tests. I found them very useful.

Unless you just need strategy, then yes, it's definitely worth buying the one with the DVD. The tests are very close to the real thing and I have found them to be very helpful, esp the answer explanations.

Agreed, it depends on you. I personally am more alert in the afternoon if I've had a high protein lunch like a tuna sandwich, but I'm groggy in the morning no matter what I eat!

Um, 750 is an extremely high score that VERY few people get. I am quite certain that virtually none of them started with a 360.
By all means, aim high, but be realistic. A 750 is hard to get for people starting in the 600s.

Yeah, Princeton Review has several tests...if you get Cracking the GMAT with the DVD, you get four tests. In my experience they were most like the real thing after GMATPrep.

The tests that are most like the real thing are the official GMATPrep tests (of course) and Princeton Review. I believe those are the only ones that are adaptive. I haven't taken Manhattan GMAT's tests; I heard they were actually Cambridge's tests. Kaplan's are the least like the real thing. Read th...

Unfortunately, you were working with questions that are not realistic. I'm sure that seeing remarkably different questions freaked you out a bit and hurt your confidence. The OG and especially GMATPrep (since it's newer) are far more representative of the real GMAT. Try to shake off the questions yo...

You will need to find some time on weekdays to study. Just doing it on the weekends is not going to help you improve. Do a little before you go to work, like maybe an hour, and then another hour in the evening.

A week may or may not make a big difference...it depends on how much time you can devote to it. But you still have plenty of time for February 10, so keep at it and plan on the 10th. You can accomplish a lot in the next 3 weeks.

It's too bad that you didn't find this site before you spent so much time on Kaplan! You are right, the tests are too hard and the scores are WAY off. A 590 on Kaplan is actually very good. Put the Kaplan book down and walk away! Definitely get the Official Guide, and spend the rest of your time wor...
