Hi Team, Thanks a lot for creating such a wonderful GMAT ecosystem. Its been very useful and I regularly follow this. One thing I always felt "a nice one to have" was the Previous Topic / Next Topic links at the bottom of the threads. Sometimes the threads are long where the user has to sc...

I could solve it in less than 3 min even thru traditional way.

expand as (a+b)^2

(9+sqrt(80))+(9-sqrt(80))+2(sqrt(9+sqrt(80)))(sqrt(9-sqrt(80)))

=> 9+9+2(sqrt(9+sqrt(80))(9-sqrt(80))) the last part is (a+b)(a-b)

=> 18+2(sqrt(9^2-80))

=> 18+2(1)

=>20

=> 1/5^m * 1/4^18 = 1/2 *10^35

=> 2 *10^35 = 5^m* 4^18

=> [2 *10^35]/ 4^18 = 5^m

=> [2 *10^35]/ 2^36 = 5^m

=> [10^35]/ 2^35 = 5^m

=> [10/ 2]^35 = 5^m

=> 5^35 = 5^m

=> m = 35

as its an eqilateral triangle all the arcs will be same so there will be 4 arcs total.. if 3arcs = 24 perimeter is 32 = 2*Phi*r so r is approx 5.9 * 2 = 11 apprx is the diameter.

let fathers age is 10x+y and sons age is 10y+x

Ages an year ago are F = 10x+y-1 and S = 10y+x-1
F-S = 9x-9y which is equal to the age of the son i.e.
9x-9y = 10y+x-1 => 8x-19y+1=0 .. substitute values in x and y to make the total 0 and it happens at y=3 and x=7

so F=73 and S=37
