I have not idea what happened. It seemed like entirely different material that what I had studied. Scientific Notation vs Exponents
I do not understand why in this situation the decimal point in 10 is not moved 5 spaces to the right to get the answer.

The OG seems to contradict with regard to statement 2 of this question. It says that if n=1, the inequality is untrue but only when n>= 3 relationship true so that is why statement is 2, per the book.

after reading the explanations on this I still need help. Why can't the inequalities be cross multiplied? When i do cross multiply the inequalities here is how i simplify: nm + nx > nm + mx (subtract nm from both sides_ nx > mx Statement 1 - Sufficient b/c n is greater than m and they are being mult...

Is |x| = y - z? (1) x + y = z (2) x < 0 OA IS C Okay... So from the given info in the question stem I understand that x = y - z OR -x= -y + z Statement 1 x + y = z Simplified: x = z - y Since this simplifies to the same thing as a possible value of x I consider it SUFFICIENT because it is equivalent...

Why is square root of (x-1)^2 not...
OG 11 # 171
If (x-1)^2 = 400, which of the following could be the value of x-5?
(A) 15
(B) 14
(C) -24
(D) -25
(E) -26
OA is C
Why is square root of (x-1)^2 not equal to -(x-1) and (x-1). I thought that taking the square root of a number means its +/- the number. Please advise.
